The Department of Science and Technology Regional Office X (DOST-X) once again commenced its series of Food Safety Awareness webinars for food handlers in Region 10.

Eight businesses in the Bukidnon food sector attended last 13 April, 18 home-based food businesses in Misamis Occidental last 14 April, and 21 food delivery businesses in Camiguin last 19 April.

Through the webinars, the DOST-X Food Safety Team was able to capacitate the food handlers in maintaining food safety inside their manufacturing sites. The team also discussed food safety guidelines, issues, and concerns in Region 10 to enhance awareness among the participants.

"I learned that proper food handling is vital for the safety of our consumers, especially during this pandemic. It must be strictly followed and imposed," said one training participant. Truly no one can stop these passion-driven food handlers from rising above the challenges brought by the pandemic.

DOST-X, with its Food Safety Team, continues to provide free Food Safety Training to businesses in the region to ensure "Safe food for everyone, by everyone, through Science, Technology, and Innovation."
