GAD Mainstreaming efforts thru Communicating Science for the People

The DOST-STII continues its gender mainstreaming to respond to gender issues and GAD Mandates in the organization especially with its 2022 GAD Plan and Budget (GPB) endorsement by the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW), its third endorsement, and with the approval of the DOST-STII 2021-2026 GAD Agenda.

On the other hand, under the 2022 GPB, DOST-STII, considered as leaders in science, technology, and innovation information and communication, will continue to capacitate its stakeholders in Gender-Fair Communication through seminars, trainings, and workshops, as well as developing gender-fair communication tools as guide for content contributors.

Aside from that, DOST-STII is also expected to continue the campaign in recognizing the roles of women in science and technology through promotion in different DOST-STII social media pages and through special features in DOSTv regular programs and segments. In addition to that, the Institute will also observe all national campaigns and celebrations for gender equality and women empowerment.

Meanwhile, eyeing to be more inclusive, DOST-STII will conduct training needs assessments, surveys, focus group discussions, and meetings with its stakeholders to include their perspective, needs, and interests in developing programs and projects of the organization.

Also, part of the Institute’s advocacy is to promote a safe space for everyone, with that, through its Committee on Decorum and Investigation (CODI), DOST-STII will develop the CODI Manual and conduct Gender Based Sexual Harassment orientation to its stakeholders. The CODI members will also undergo trainings to capacitate them in handling cases.
